Centreville Students, Families, and Community,
First, I want to thank the custodians for all of their hard work over the last several days! They braved the elements and took on the monumental task of clearing all the snow and ice. I greatly appreciate all the work they do behind the scenes to ensure our staff and students can get to school safely!
Despite the wintry weather this past week, I had the distinct pleasure of cheering on our Swim & Dive teams during their district meet and witnessing the incredible talent of Centreville Theatre at the One-Act Competition. It is a joy to announce that our student-athletes excelled, with many achieving personal bests and several qualifying for the regional competition this coming week!
As your principal, my heart swells with pride when I see our students in action. They do more than just compete, they serve as ambassadors for the values that define Centreville: unwavering dedication, a passion for excellence, and deep-rooted sportsmanship. Whether on the pool deck or under the stage lights, they represent our community with the kind of integrity and spirit that makes us all proud to be Wildcats.
As we shift into February, we celebrate Black History Month, a time to honor the achievements, contributions, and central role of African Americans in U.S. history. This year’s theme, "A Century of Black History Commemorations," marks a momentous milestone: 100 years since Dr. Carter G. Woodson first established Negro History Week in 1926. This centennial invites us to reflect on how a century of honoring Black life and culture has transformed the modern world.
At Centreville, we believe Black history is American history. We remain committed to providing students with meaningful opportunities to engage with these stories, not just this month, but all year long. To bring this history to life, our Black Student Union (BSU) has curated a vibrant month of celebration, creativity, and community including a door decorating content and several themed dress-out days throughout the month to honor the diversity and joy of the Black experience.
Thank you and go Wildcats!
Dr. Erik Healey, Principal

February 3 - WIDA Testing Begins: Due to weather on February 3, Centreville High School will begin WIDA testing for nearly 350 students who have already been contacted regarding their specific testing dates. We want to emphasize how important it is for students to attend and give their absolute best effort; remember our motto: "4.4, WIDA no more!" as scoring a 4.4 or higher allows students to officially exit the program.
To support our students, we are providing breakfast or lunch (depending on the testing window), snacks, and entry into a raffle for exciting prizes. Furthermore, students who show significant progress or successfully exit the program will earn prestigious cords and medallions to wear with pride during their graduation ceremony.
