Game Day Rules: Let's Keep It Safe and Fun!

As we cheer on our Wolverines, we want to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time at the games:

    • No Powder

    • No Artificial Noise Makers: This includes whistles, bells, clappers, and thundersticks. (Cheerleaders are allowed to use megaphones, but fans are not.)

    • No Horns or Speakers
    • No Rushing The Court

    Let's Go Wolverines!

    Sportsmanship: Please Lead by Example

We love the energy and excitement our fans bring to our games! When we come together to watch our teams compete, remember that good sportsmanship is a huge part of the fun.

At West Potomac, we count on our students, parents, and community members to show respect and set a positive example for everyone.

This means we need to cheer loud for our team, but we must be respectful to all the people around us. Please remember:

    • No Bad Language: Don't use curse words (profanity).

    • No Put-Downs: Do not say or do things that are mean or disrespectful to anyone. This includes the referees, the other team, the coaches, school staff, or other fans.

Showing respect is not a choice — it's an expectation. If someone breaks these rules, they could be asked to leave the game and school property.

Game Schedule Week of February 2nd

    Week of Feb 2nd

We will push out Spring Sports Tryout Schedules at the beginning of February as we gather that information.  In the meantime, don't hesitate to reach out to the Head Coach if you have any specific questions!

    Male AOTM

    December-Male Athlete of the Month

Four O'Neil representing Swim and Dive

    Coach Keightley says:

Four O’Neill absolutely crushed it in the month of December, leading the team in scoring across all four meets. He has qualified for regionals in the 200 Free and as a member of all three West Potomac relays. A natural leader who has worked hard to earn the respect of his teammates, Four was voted a senior captain and leads the team both on deck and in the pool. No matter how late the meet goes or how much we have already asked him to do, Four always gives 100% every time he dives into the water. For that his team is immeasurably grateful.

    DH

    December-Female Athlete of the Month

    Dawn Houston representing Girls Basketball

    Coach Petrucelli says:

Dawn Houston has had a strong start to the season, leading us in scoring (16 points per game), rebounding (8 per game), and passing (4 assists per game). Dawn’s ability to make plays for herself and others has helped us to our 9-1 record thus far. Dawn impacts winning in all facets of the game and is relentless on both ends of the court. As a co-captain Dawn has done a great job of setting the standard at practices and in games for her younger, less experienced teammates. Dawn is someone her teammates and peers can look up to as an all around athlete, student, and person.
