FCPS has crews on site today supporting additional snow removal to help open schools. As we anticipate welcoming students back this week, please keep the following reminders in mind:
-
If you plan to use Kiss & Ride, please review procedures below.
-
Expect bus delays in both the morning and afternoon. If we become aware of significant delays, we will communicate updates.
-
To support safe bus loading, please keep sidewalks and building entrances clear during dismissal.
Working together, we can safely welcome students back to Sunrise Valley!
We recognize that many bus stops remain covered with snow and ice. If your child’s bus stop is significantly impacted and you are unable to assist with snow or ice removal, please complete this form and include the bus stop cross streets. FCPS is working with the county to explore additional removal support.
All responses must be submitted by 1:00 p.m. today.
Bus Stop Information
Entrance to Kiss & Ride is right-turn only at this time (see image above).
If you are traveling on Cross School Road from Sunrise Valley Drive, please continue past the Kiss & Ride entrance and make a U-turn at Midsummer Drive. For safety reasons, do not use residential driveways or turn around in the roadway. After making the U-turn, vehicles should queue on the right-hand side of Cross School Road to enter Kiss & Ride.
The Kiss & Ride loop is the only designated area for car rider drop-off and pick-up. Please do not use the lower lot or enter the bus loop, as these areas are not intended for car rider access.
