Hi Elliott Waver, The basis for analysis and forecasting at Elliott Wave International is fundamentally different from everyone else’s. Here's a prime example in gold: On September 29, 2023, after 12 years of net sideways movement in gold, our Elliott Wave Financial Forecast focused subscribers on the “approaching wave 2 low”-- which meant a powerful wave 3 rally was about to begin. On October 4, 2023, Short Term Update alerted subscribers to a big opportunity. Statistics showed that at that moment, 90% of traders were bearish on gold. Gold bottomed two trading days later (Oct 6) at $1810.20/oz basis spot. The chart shows you the timing. |
Many people thought gold had quadruple-topped when it jumped back above $2000. We said no way: Gold’s three-month implied volatility has declined to its lowest level in over four years. At the same time, total open interest in gold futures has declined to its lowest level since December 2018. The low level of open interest means that investors’ attention is turning away from gold, and the low implied volatility indicates that investors do not expect gold to move much over the course of the next three months. Both are preludes to what we see as a major move forming in gold prices. -- Elliott Wave Financial Forecast March 2024 |
Gold is now selling for 2.5 times what it was when we identified a “wave 2” low in October 2023. Would that call have been useful to you? |
