Inside the offensive line’s room at Gillette Stadium, there’s a teacher’s bell on center Garrett Bradbury’s desk.
“When the bell is rung, a fine is given out,” Bradbury said.
After helping organize weekly dinners for his position group, Bradbury spearheaded the introduction of another tradition popular among offensive lines across the NFL. He established a fine system in which the linemen are required to pay up if they commit one of the three dozen or so agreed-upon offenses.
Bradbury, who signed a two-year contract in March, consulted a few of his ex-teammates in Minnesota to compile a list of their infractions. He then made a few tweaks, before unveiling the finalized rules during Patriots training camp.
