Yes, I know, you're reading a Magic email newsletter so it better be the best game, right?

Well, MTG is over 30 years old, so there have been plenty of competing games created over the years.

Some have come and gone (remember Artifact??)

But there recently have been some very strong competitors.

Flesh and Blood.

Lorcana.

And those games have exploded in popularity, even creating live tournament series akin to those that Magic has (or had...)

But... can they unseat the king, Big MTG?

Magic has a lot wrong with it.

The variance can be a real b**** sometimes.

Getting flooded. Manascrewed.

Your opponent drawing the one card in their deck that can beat you.

It's really frustrating.

So the question is... have other games got it right? Have they figured out a way to be just as fun without the annoying parts of Magic?
