Centreville Students, Families, and Community,
As I reflect on the past week at Centreville High School, I am reminded once again that one of our greatest strengths is the diversity of our community and the powerful collaboration that brings us together. When we celebrate who we are and work alongside one another, we truly shine.
Last week’s Black Student Union (BSU) Spirit Week was a wonderful example of that spirit in action. Throughout the week, students and staff proudly celebrated by wearing traditional cultural attire and showcasing their HBCU pride. It was inspiring to see our halls filled with color, heritage, and unity. The week concluded with a meaningful collaboration between our BSU and Student Government Association (SGA) in recognition of P.S. I Love You Day, bringing awareness to suicide prevention and reminding our community of the importance of connection, compassion, and support for one another. I am incredibly proud of our student leaders for creating spaces that honor culture while also uplifting the well-being of our entire Wildcat family.
We also had an exciting weekend of athletics as Centreville hosted the Regional Wrestling Tournament. Congratulations to Nathan Lim for earning second place in the 120lb weight class and securing his spot in the State Tournament next week! This is an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to his hard work and dedication. I would also like to commend all of our wrestlers and coaches for an incredible season. We are proud of you and wish Nathan the very best as he continues to compete at the state level.
This Wednesday marks the beginning of Ramadan, a holy month observed by Muslims around the world. Ramadan is a time of fasting from dawn to sunset, prayer, reflection, and community. It is a deeply meaningful period focused on spiritual growth, gratitude, and compassion for others. To our students, families, and staff who observe Ramadan, I extend my warmest wishes for a peaceful and blessed month. Ramadan Mubarak.
Looking ahead, our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning continues. Over the next month, our entire instructional staff will participate in classroom visits as part of our ongoing professional growth. These peer observations allow our teachers to learn from one another, reflect on their practice, and strengthen the collective expertise of our staff. Students may notice small groups of teachers visiting classrooms, a visible sign of our dedication to continuous improvement and to providing the very best learning experiences for every Wildcat.
Thank you and go Wildcats!
