 A Dynasty Continues: Wrestling Secures 8th Straight Title
Join us in a massive round of applause for Coach Racek, his dedicated coaching staff, and our powerhouse wrestling team! This past weekend, the program reached a historic milestone by securing its 8th consecutive District Championship.
What makes this victory particularly remarkable is the grit required to get there. After replacing nine starters and coming off back-to-back Regional titles, this season was a masterclass in resilience. The team didn't just "rebuild"—they reloaded, dominating the district and fighting their way to an impressive second-place finish in the Region.
Individual Standouts
Beyond the team success, several athletes reached incredible individual heights:

Davey Dight: Cemented his legacy by winning his 4th consecutive District Title. Joining the elite ranks of four-time champions is a rare feat that speaks to years of unrelenting consistency.

David Linn & Marcus Owusu: Both put on clinical performances to bring home Individual Region Titles, standing atop the podium in one of the state's toughest competitive landscapes.
To maintain this level of excellence is a testament to the culture of hard work built by Coach Racek and his staff.

Edison Activity Registration
Legislation introduced in the Virginia General Assembly and recently signed into law will result in two significant changes to the athletic pre-participation examination (physical) requirements for FCPS student-athletes:
- Beginning July 1, 2025, athletic physicals will be considered valid for a period of 14 months from the date the form is signed by the medical provider completing the exam. This is the date on page 3 of the VHSL Athletic Participation/Parent Consent/Physical Examination Form (revised January 2021).
- Beginning May 1, 2025, FCPS student-athletes are EXPECTED to have athletic physicals completed on the new VHSL Athletic Participation/Parental Consent/Evaluation Form (revised April 2025).
