Dear Cherry Run Community,

We’re excited to share some big news and give you a heads-up about an upcoming school-wide fundraiser that we think you’re going to love!

This April, Cherry Run Elementary PTA is partnering with Boosterthon to host a Glow Run Fundraiser during the school day. Boosterthon is an approved FCPS vendor and has worked with many local schools—including Mrs. Donahue’s previous school—with great success.

Based on Boosterthon’s fundraising model and track record, they are projecting that Cherry Run PTA could earn over $20,000 in profit from this event (that’s after Boosterthon’s cut!). This would nearly double our annual PTA budget and help close several funding gaps we experienced this year—an exciting opportunity for our school community.

Here’s a sneak peek at how it works:

• The Boosterthon program runs from April 8-21 over 8 school days, all during the school day.

• For the first 7 days, students will watch short 4–7 minute videos during morning announcements as part of the Star Quest 5 - promoting the power of literacy theme. 

• On April 21, Day 8, Boosterthon transforms our gym into a Glow Run course, and students participate during their specials. It honestly looks so fun!

• Students can earn daily prizes or tokens to use in an online prize store (specific items TBD).

Even better—every Cherry Run student and staff member will receive a CRES t-shirt as part of the event at no cost to families.
