Game Day Rules: Let's Keep It Safe and Fun!
As we cheer on our Wolverines, we want to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time at the games:
-
No Powder
-
No Artificial Noise Makers: This includes whistles, bells, clappers, and thundersticks. (Cheerleaders are allowed to use megaphones, but fans are not.)
- No Horns or Speakers
- No Rushing The Court
Let's Go Wolverines!
Sportsmanship: Please Lead by Example
We love the energy and excitement our fans bring to our games! When we come together to watch our teams compete, remember that good sportsmanship is a huge part of the fun.
At West Potomac, we count on our students, parents, and community members to show respect and set a positive example for everyone.
This means we need to cheer loud for our team, but we must be respectful to all the people around us. Please remember:
-
No Bad Language: Don't use curse words (profanity).
-
No Put-Downs: Do not say or do things that are mean or disrespectful to anyone. This includes the referees, the other team, the coaches, school staff, or other fans.
Showing respect is not a choice — it's an expectation. If someone breaks these rules, they could be asked to leave the game and school property.

Boys Indoor Track Team Places 2nd at Region Tournament!
Congratulations to our Boys Indoor Track team for finishing 2nd at the Region tournament that was held Wednesday and Thursday at PG SportsPlex! It was the first top two finish for the program since 2009!
Congratulations to all who competed for West Potomac at the Occoquan Region championships. The girls who competed did fantastic, with a special shout out to Addalia Sylvester who placed 6th in the girls Shot Put, the first time we have had a placement in that event at the regional level in many years! The boys team finished in an astounding 2nd place which is the highest placement since 2009. Robert Leonard was the Individual champion in both the 1600m and 1000m runs (even more impressively, both events are only about an hour apart on race day). Robert was also a part of the boys 4x800m relay along with Daniel Black, Andrew Edwards, and Trent Lykling, which finished second place with a new school indoor record in the process. Another shout out to Max Tuttle who managed to tie his own personal record of 6'4" in the high jump on his way to a region runner up placement. One of the things that catapulted us into the top 2 this indoor season was how well rounded our team was from a perspective of different disciplines. Every boy's team athlete who competed in the Regional Championships was a top 6 contributor as either an individual or as a part of a relay, while the boys went on to score points in sprint events, long distance events, and field events (including both jumping and throwing). This is a fantastic sign for things to come with the program and I will continue to be proud of all of the athletes we have at West Potomac.
