But first: how Hilary Duff got her album-cover glow

here's the plan

You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend…

  1. 1.

Live from The Cottage, it’s…Saturday Night Live? That’s right, Ilya Rozanov (sorry, Connor Storrie) will make his SNL debut tomorrow night. Fingers crossed for a Hudson Williams cameo, a skit based on his resurfaced childhood YouTube videos, even more shockingly good accents, and at least one It Boy Bag.

  2. 2.

Another week, another dumpling hack. Enter: one-pan “Blanket Dumplings,” which are just as comforting as they sound and require zero folding and pleating. They’re basically the best thing to happen to you and your lazy Saturday.

  3. 3.

You don’t need us to tell you that winter is still wintering. The upside? There’s still time to try this brilliantly simple T-shirt trick for instantly elevating any sweater.

  4. 4.

Those guys you love from the T-Mobile commercials are back. More than 15 years after Scrubs went off air, JD (Zach Braff) and Christopher (Donald Faison) are returning to Sacred Heart Hospital for a long-awaited reboot. With two episodes already streaming on Hulu, expect to see many familiar faces (looking at you, Elliot and Carla), a new generation of interns, and a stronger-than-ever bromance. But the real question: Will fans get another musical episode?

    Scrubs
  5. 5.

If you’re already getting a head start on spring cleaning (in which case, congrats), you might want to begin in the kitchen — particularly once you’ve seen the eight items pro organizers say you should never leave on your counters. We’re guilty of one, two, and three.

My Non-Negotiables

Happy (almost) weekend. Lately, I’ve been thinking about how to make it through the winter blues. I’ve had plenty of travel to keep me busy — but it’s taken me to some cold places. This weekend, I’m finally headed back to Los Angeles, and I can’t wait to soak up that gooooood California sunshine. Here’s what else I’m looking forward to:

  • To make the most of citrus season, I’m whipping up this barely-any-effort-required orange olive oil cake. It’s always a hit with the neighbors…so long as my husband and I don’t eat it all first.

  • After years of faithful service, my perfect carry-on bag needs a replacement. It was the first thing I bought from one of our newsletters — and I’ve been a loyal customer since. So loyal that I’m buying the same bag, just in a new shade.

  • We recently interviewed The Pitt’s Katherine LaNasa (aka Nurse Dana), which was a nice reminder that it’s time to catch up on the latest drama in my favorite ER.

  • I started reading Chloe Michelle Howarth’s Sunburn and haven’t been able to put it down. The prose is gorgeous, the characters feel deeply real, and it pairs perfectly with this candle from my go-to indie brand.

  • I’m attending the GLAAD Awards next week — and my most pressing prep is locating the shoes I wore to my wedding. They’ve already survived one night of dancing, so they can handle an evening with the Heated Rivalry boys.
