Lou Holtz, ubiquitous college football coaching voice and Notre Dame’s last champion, dies at 89

For all that Lou Holtz accomplished in his 34 seasons as a head coach, he will be remembered as the man who returned Notre Dame to college football’s summit. The 89-year-old died Wednesday, his family said.
