Dear readers,

Whether you’re new here or a regular, let me introduce myself. I’m Chloe Hadavas, the editor of Foreign Policy’s Books section.

On Friday, March 20, we will launch FP Bookshelf, a monthly newsletter showcasing the best of our reviews and excerpts. Each of these essays brings an element of serendipity to our usual coverage, offering a unique (and often unexpected) perspective on the places, people, and ideas behind the headlines.

GET ON THE LIST

In the last few years, we’ve significantly grown our Books coverage to spotlight the new titles driving foreign-policy ideas and conversations, publishing more on the latest must-reads in history, politics, and international affairs.

We regularly round up reading recommendations from experts on major geopolitical events, from Israel’s campaign in Gaza to the Iran war. Every December, we put out a list of the most anticipated books of the next year. And, a little over a year ago, we started a monthly international fiction column for readers seeking a reprieve from the news and a window into foreign literary landscapes.

Expect FP Bookshelf in your inbox on the second Friday of every month going forward. Whether you’re looking for your next read or just hoping to keep abreast of new releases, you won’t want to miss a chance to peruse this curated collection. Sign up today!

—Chloe Hadavas, senior editor
