Flexible Access to Advanced Engineering Tools Using Designcenter X NX

Engineering teams often need advanced functionality for specific projects, but not on a full-time basis. Designcenter X NX value-based licensing provides access to more than 100 add-on modules through a shared token pool, allowing organisations to extend CAD, CAM, and CAE capabilities without overbuying licenses. This model supports experimentation, scaling, and cross-team collaboration without delays tied to new procurement cycles.

We help align your licensing strategy with your operational goals. Download the guide to learn more by clicking the button below.

An End-to-End Workflow for Electromagnetic Simulation and Optimisation

We’re excited to share that we’ve expanded our portfolio with HEEDS and CAD softwares packages (NX and Solid Edge) to support a more complete, simulation-driven engineering workflow — giving you access to powerful tools that work together naturally across design, simulation, and optimisation stages.

At the core of this workflow is still Simcenter MAGNET, a robust solution for 2D and 3D electromagnetic field simulation. MAGNET enables engineers to accurately and efficiently solve complex electromagnetic problems, supporting a wide range of applications from electric machines and sensors to actuators and inductive components.

To unlock its full potential, CAD software packages (NX and Solid Edge) and HEEDS works best when combined with Simcenter MAGNET, which provides the foundation: fast, precise geometry creation and easy iteration of design concepts.

Engineers can focus on building and modifying models efficiently, ensuring that simulation-ready geometries are always available without unnecessary rework.

HEEDS adds the intelligence layer to the process. It enables automated design exploration and optimisation, helping engineers evaluate thousands of design alternatives, identify trade-offs, and discover high-performing solutions that might otherwise be missed. Instead of manually adjusting parameters and rerunning simulations, HEEDS systematically drives MAGNET to find optimal designs based on your performance goals.

Together, CAD software packages, HEEDS, and MAGNET form an end-to-end workflow:

  • CAD defines and updates geometry
  • MAGNET delivers accurate electromagnetic simulation results
  • HEEDS explores, optimise, and guide design decisions.

Using these tools in isolation often leads to slower iterations, manual handoffs, and limited design insight. Integrated together, they allow engineers to move faster, reduce development risk, and make confident, data-driven decisions earlier in the design process.

This integrated approach is especially valuable for teams working on electromagnetics-driven products where performance, efficiency, and reliability are critical.

If you’re looking to enhance your engineering workflow and support more advanced simulation and optimisation tasks, these solutions are now available as part of our portfolio.

Modern Product Development with Designcenter X Solid Edge

Product development does not stand still, and your software should not either. Designcenter X Solid Edge brings performance, collaboration, and security together in a secure SaaS environment.

With automatic updates and cloud-based data management, your team can stay focused on engineering rather than maintenance. We help organisations modernise their design environments while maintaining control and security. Watch the video to learn how this model can support your next phase of growth.

Our new video, "Multidisciplinary Rotor Dynamics Analysis with Electromagnetic Loads in Simcenter 3D", is available for watching.

This video demonstrates a multi-disciplinary workflow in Simcenter 3D for analysing electromagnetic forces and their structural impact in rotational and axial flux machines. It walks through the process of exporting electromagnetic surface forces, mapping them onto a structural model, and setting up a simulation using Simcenter Nastran. The video highlights how to apply loads, define constraints, and evaluate deformation and critical speeds. It also showcases post-processing capabilities, including automated snapshots and field plots, to efficiently generate insights and reports.

Infologic Design - From Design to Production

Infologic Design have been providing electromagnetic design software since 1978 (when it was named Infolytica Ltd), but as well as providing the software (now part of Simcenter from Siemens), we also offer a full Consultancy Facility. This ranges from running analyses as specified by the customer to full design optimisation to create the best design that meets the customer's requirements, for devices ranging from electric motors to large-scale transformers.

In addition, we can manufacture physical prototype electric motors, and working with one of our partners can even provide manufacturing facilities.
