I'm so excited.
We've created the missing layer for properly integrating AI.
Foundationally, it started last year, when we introduced the IDI framework.
This is our lesson from our AI + PKM course from last fall. Only LYT members have access, but I wanted to share this brief overview of IDI.
It's just as true then as it is now. But what we've been trying to figure out is how to properly incorporate AI alongside our notes.
That's the big question.
How do I properly incorporate AI alongside my notes?
That word "properly" is pulling a lot of weight. What does "properly" mean to you? To me, it covers efficiency, effectiveness, and a sense of augmentation. It covers privacy and security. It definitely covers the noise-generating and burgeoning pain of "AI Overload."
How do we smartly, adroitly prepare for AI?
(Remember, if you own your notes, you can always NOT use AI!)
The good news is that the more you've been using linked notes and Maps of Content, the better off you'll be. That's because every link is a relationship that AI can recognize as semi-relevant context. And every MOC is a rich hub of links. If you have a well-connected system of knowledge, you are already LYT-years ahead.
But the problem is our communal anxiety surge towards all the AI developments. Trying to figure out every new feature and change is exhausting. Getting reps now is helpful, but much of what is learned is just as quickly lost as the tech layer changes.
The key is in the middle layer.
This is the layer we need.
This is the layer we're going to teach this summer. Our Spring bootcamp, "AI + PKM" is reborn as a summer two-week cohort!
It just has to wait for us to deliver Obsidian Launchpad, something as-of-yet-unannounced, and for me to hit some writing milestones on the LYT book.
It will get a different name, but no spoilers for now...Feel free to join the waitlist for our two-week summer cohort, codenamed: AI + PKM.
In the meantime, keep tabs on my YouTube channel. We have some videos you'll definitely want to watch if you're interested in how to properly implement AI alongside your notes. Our latest video premieres tomorrow.
Work on your "Robot Assistant" right now!
If you want to get a head start on AI before our summer cohort, MacSparky's Robot Assistant course is now available! I'm proud to be able to support the launch. It's the perfect way to bone up on AI in practical ways. Not to write for you, but as David likes to say, to do the "donkey work" for you. Check out the Robot Assistant Field Guide »
Obsidian CEO launches Obsidian Reader
This week's contribution to humanity goes to...Kepano.
While maybe I'm being a little tongue-in-cheek, I also mean it. Having a free, AI-free, blazing, rules-based, clean-reader for the internet is nothing to scoff at.
Thanks Kepano, for your contribution to help us TAKE THE POWER BACK (NSFW).
