I'm Dominique Bayens, host of the new season of the Expanse podcast. In this season, I revisit a baffling disappearance that has puzzled police for nearly two decades.
I live about an hour's drive from the small town of Nannup where Simon Kadwill, Tony Popic, Chantelle and Leela McDougall disappeared in July 2007 amongst rumours of bizarre behaviour and cult activity.
However, as I began investigating the case and speaking to the family and friends left behind, it soon became clear that there was more to their story than the “doomsday cult” headlines implied.
We’re midway through the season now, and the response to the first three episodes of Expanse: The Nannup Four have been beyond my wildest expectations. It’s been wonderful hearing from those closest to the case who feel it’s being covered with nuance and respect.
In today’s episode, we uncover some troubling signs in the weeks leading up to the disappearance, with the most shocking discoveries still to come.
Dive into one of Australia’s most baffling missing persons cases in the new season of Expanse: The Nannup Four, streaming now on ABC listen and ABC iview.
