Have you ever seen a news story about the criminal actions of an … animal?
It's a topic that's being explored by Dr Ann Jones over several episodes in Nature's Most Wanted — the latest series from What The Duck?!.
The most recent episode is about animals that steal, including a feline clothes line bandit that goes by the name of Leonardo da Pinchy.
The Tonkinese — a hybrid of Siamese and Burmese cat breeds — from New Zealand started small with its capers at first.
"He was obsessed with my husband's socks and boxer shorts," Helen North told What The Duck?!
"We thought [it] was initially very cute, but then when we let him outside … I came home from work and there was like 10 socks on our lounge floor."
Since then Helen estimates her cat has stolen hundreds of items from around the neighbourhood, including a $300 cashmere sweater.
So why does Leo do it?
Helen said when he was a kitty he liked to fetch.
"Maybe it's a gateway to crime?"
Hear about the possible anatomical and behavioural explanations for da Pinchy's spree in the latest episode of Nature's Most Wanted.
While Leo is obsessed with haute couture, at ABC Science we're mad for the Moon!
Ahead of the potential Artemis II launch on Thursday you can test your Moon knowledge in a tough lunar quiz.
And keep an eye on the Science Friction feed for our new daily podcast series Artemis Explained, which starts today.
The show is hosted by science reporters Jacinta Bowler and Belinda Smith and will answer your questions about astronaut life, spaceflight, and plans to venture beyond the Moon.
That's all for this week, keep on the lookout for rocket launches or … klepto cats eyeing off your washing.
