| Gusty winds make it feel colder today and elevate fire risk in southern New England |
Not a huge drop in temperatures this weekend, but a noticeable one. With colder air diving in, we’ll fall from the 60s/70s yesterday to nearly 60 today. Gusty winds will make it feel a little colder (and make yard cleanup a challenge). The winds will also elevate our seasonal fire threat. With lots of leaves, dry branches, and other woody debris scattered across the landscape, any fires that ignite could spread rapidly. |

Dianna Russini, an NFL journalist for The Athletic, won’t be reporting while the sports outlet reviews her coverage after photos of her with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel were published, a source at The Athletic familiar with the matter said Friday. “An initial review suggested the images provided lacked context, specifically the presence of a larger group of friends,” the source said. New details from the report “and information from the investigation raised additional concerns that are now being further reviewed.” The investigation is ongoing, the source said. |

| Artemis II crew splash down after historic moon mission |
Artemis II’s astronauts closed out humanity’s first lunar voyage in more than half a century with a Pacific splashdown on Friday, blazing new records near the moon with grace and joy. It was a dramatic grand finale to a mission that revealed not only swaths of the lunar far side never seen before by human eyes, but a total solar eclipse and a parade of planets, most notably our own shimmering Earth against the endless black void of space. With their flight now complete, the four astronauts have set NASA up for a moon landing by another crew in just two years and a full-blown moon base within the decade. |

A woman whose dog police say attacked a man and another dog in Everett, Massachusetts, will not face criminal charges in the matter, according to the department. She did appear in court in Chelsea Friday, but on unrelated warrants, for shoplifting and larceny charges. Everett police told NBC10 Boston there are no charges they can file in connection with the attack on Ferry Street Tuesday afternoon. In it, an off-leash dog charged a man and mauled his own, smaller dog, injuring the man as well in the process. |
