Massachusetts State Police Lt. Brian Tully, who oversaw the investigation into John O’Keefe’s death and testified at Karen Read‘s trial, has retired. State police confirmed his retirement was effective at the end of day Wednesday. Tully’s most recent post was part of the Field Services division, an MSP spokesman told the Boston Herald. He formerly led the detective unit for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office. Weeks after Read’s first murder trial ended, state police announced in July 2024 that they were investigating two troopers, including Tully, who testified at Read’s trial. |

| Police investigating ‘disturbing' Mass. school staffer video allegation |
Police are investigating a video that appears to show a Massachusetts school employee having a sexual conversation online with someone posing as a 15-year-old girl, officials said. There is no evidence that any students in Silver Lake Regional School District, where the man had been employed, received any inappropriate communication from the now-former employee, Kinston police said. They didn’t share details of what’s depicted in the video, seen on TikTok and first brought to authorities’ attention on Thursday evening, police said. They didn’t identify the district employee or say where they work, but did note that he is no longer allowed on school property and no longer works there. |

| Wind keeps a chill in the air today, rain showers arrive after sunset |
Winds turn around again, coming in off the Atlantic by the afternoon. The water temperature not too far offshore is about 42 degrees. With a wind off that cold water, it’ll send a chill up and down the coast. We’ll barely nudge into the 50s. It becomes mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Rain showers arrive after the sun goes down. Those showers hang around after midnight. |
