President Donald Trump said he instructed the U.S. Navy to begin a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, accusing Iran of trying to extort vessels for passage.

In a second post on Truth Social, Trump accused Tehran of seeking to block the strait despite his order to blockade it.

The president's move comes a day after peace talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, failed.
