Hey Bob, I recently sat down with Stefano Suigo. He speaks 10 languages. Fluently. Italian, English, German, Portuguese, Finnish, French, Romanian... and that's before we get to the harder ones. Now, I've spent a lot of time with a lot of polyglots. But Stefano is different. Because his approach isn't what you'd expect. No method. No system. No 90-day challenge. What he does have is a very clear way of thinking about why certain approaches work for certain languages... and why the same approach can be completely useless for others. This is a man who started learning Finnish by reading a grammar book in bed. Who treats language like music... If he likes the sound of it, he'll learn it. Who hasn't learned a single new language in six years... and has a very good reason why. There's a moment in the conversation where he says something about language maintenance that genuinely shifted how I think about it. I won't spoil it here. Oh... and I put together a free PDF with Stefano's biggest tips. You'll find it in the description of the episode. You can check it out here. Talk soon, Olly 'Lingua e Passione' Richards |
