Join us online on Thursday, April 30, for the 2026 Law Day event, The Declaration of Independence and the Rule of Law, at 3:00 p.m. EDT. The Law Library of Congress and the American Bar Association will cohost our annual Law Day celebration, featuring Dr. Andrew Shankman in conversation with Dr. Kevin Butterfield. They will help us celebrate Law Day and the celebration of America 250 by discussing what the philosophical and historical context of the Declaration of Independence can teach us about the rule of law in America.

The incumbent coordinates and facilitates activities relating to the Library Collections and Services Group (LCSG) information technology (IT) goals through implementation of projects involving the Library's integrated library system, other enterprise systems, and web enabled applications. Individually, and in collaboration with IT specialists in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), vendors and user organization experts, the incumbent develops and coordinates major program components that include IT support for acquisitions, circulation, cataloging, online public catalog, inventory, and serials control. The Digital Projects Coordinator acts as liaison with library professionals, IT specialists in OCIO, and various working groups throughout the Library involved in technologies and systems supporting the Library's mission. The incumbent plans, coordinates, and manages a wide variety of complex projects and activities related to current and new releases of the various Library systems.

Supervises a group of employees performing work up to the GS-13 level. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Determines the human resources needed to accomplish the work of the unit, and independently plans, schedules, coordinates and carries out the unit's activities. Performs the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations, including quality assurance, for staff members which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
Ensures the comprehensiveness and accessibility of library collections. Makes extensive unreviewed technical judgments regarding library operations. Evaluates offers of gifts for compatibility with library acquisition policies and recommends acceptance or rejection. Interprets and revises existing training policy and program guidance for use by others, including section, division, and/or directorate members. Independently plans, schedules, coordinates, and monitors the effectiveness of training operations. Solves problems in particularly difficult circumstances. Plans new or significantly updated methods of training, incorporating the latest in information technology.
