US President Donald Trump has extended the ceasefire with Iran hours before it was to expire, but has said a naval blockade of Iranian ports would continue, leaving the future of diplomatic negotiations to end the war in limbo.
Trump also said the nuclear deal he was striving for with Iran would be “far better” than the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action that President Barack Obama had negotiated, and that Trump had walked out of in 2018. We look at what that deal was, and what’s happened since Trump left it.
