BizLaunch PitchFest Awards $25,000 to Local Entrepreneurs

ARLINGTON, Va. — On April 21, 2026, 22 small business owners from Arlington and across Northern Virginia took the stage at the BizLaunch PitchFest Finale, held at Amazon’s Visitor Landing at HQ2. The event marked the culmination of the BizLaunch Transformational Challenge, a months-long program designed to equip entrepreneurs with critical skills to strengthen and scale their businesses. This year’s cohort included 40 businesses.

After five weeks of workshops and expert mentorship, finalists presented their business pitches to a panel of judges, investors, and community leaders. The panel recommended awards from a pool of $25,000 in cash awards. The award funding came from registration fees, the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) and sponsorships from John Marshall Bank and the Ballston Business Improvement District.

Four Arlington-based businesses were awarded cash prizes for their innovative ventures and compelling presentations:

  • Top Award ($10,000): Sun and Honey Grazing, led by Maripili O’Connell
  • Second Place ($7,500): District Bangle, led by Sasha Ridley
  • Third Place Winner ($5,000): Amanda’s Churn, led by Amanda Pierce
  • Honorable Mention ($2,500): Persist Physical Therapy, led by Greg Lemek

Participating businesses represented a wide range of industries and included winners above as well as: Sacred Journey Death Doula, Along with You, Piads.co, The Strong Academy, Stay Okay, Awemo Solutions, Hot Mom Pilates, Sly’s Sucker Punch, Civic Safeguard Strategies, CargoClear Technologies, Mrs Joe’s Petite Sweets, Nerissa Alford Designs, Sacred Grounds, Iron & Ivy, INDIGART Designs LLC, Sina Spices, Time Coyl, Persist Physical Therapy and Peau Rebel Aesthetics.

“The BizLaunch Transformational Challenge and PitchFest 2026 filled me with so much joy and pride. Watching these entrepreneurs step boldly into their vision — bringing such passion, courage and creativity to the stage — was truly unforgettable,” said BizLaunch Director, Tara Palacios. “This is exactly why we do this work. At BizLaunch, we believe in big dreams, and this year’s founders showed us just how powerful those dreams can be when they’re given the chance to shine.”

The BizLaunch PitchFest was hosted by Arlington Economic Development’s BizLaunch small business division in partnership with SCORE. The event continues BizLaunch’s mission to build an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem by offering local businesses the resources, visibility and support they need to thrive.
