Hello Bull Run Families,
This week, we highlighted the incredible people who keep our school running smoothly. First, a huge thank you to our Front Office Staff, who handle every request and situation with positivity and accuracy. We also celebrated Volunteer Appreciation Day; to our parents and community members who give their time in our classrooms, PTA events, and field trips, please know that your impact is felt by every student. We truly couldn't do this without you.
Looking ahead to next week, our grades 3-6 students will begin their Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments. While these tests are an important measure of academic progress, please remind your children that a test score is only one small piece of who they are. Our goal is simply for every student to do their best and stay positive. We have seen their hard work all year and have full confidence in them! You can help them shine by ensuring they get plenty of rest and a healthy breakfast.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Reminders:
Tomorrow April 24, is the final day of our Earth Week Spirit Week. It Watershed Day, so students and staff are encouraged to wear the color blue!
Have a wonderful weekend!
-Mr. Marotta
National Arab American Heritage Month
FCPS is proud to celebrate National Arab American Heritage Month in April. This special month provides an opportunity to recognize the history and valuable contributions of Arab Americans. Arab Americans have ancestry in one of the world’s 22 Arab nations, which are located from northern Africa through western Asia. The people of these nations are ethnically, politically, and religiously diverse but share a common cultural and linguistic heritage. Earlier this week I announced that we are pleased to share that our school has been selected to receive Title I federal funding for the 2026-2027 school year. These resources will provide valuable opportunities to strengthen the academic support, family engagement, and student services available to our school community.
The funding is designed to help schools expand programs and services that support student success. These funds will help us continue to build on the strong foundation already in place, while creating even more opportunities for every child to succeed.
As we begin planning for how these resources will be used, we believe family partnership is essential. We invite all families to attend an upcoming information session to learn more about the Title I grant, how it supports our students, and how your voice can help guide our planning process.
Family Information Session:

During this session, we will share more information about the opportunities this funding provides and gather your input as we work together to make thoughtful decisions that best meet the needs of our students and school community.
Thank you for your continued support!
