Safely dispose of unused or expired medications at county police stations during Drug Take Back Day. Accepted items include pills, e-cigarettes and vaping devices with batteries removed, e-cigarette pods, prescription ointments and medications for pets.

Drawing and Investigating Owls (9:30 - 11:55 a.m.)
Learn about owl adaptations as you draw owl feathers, eggs, talons, skulls and taxidermy mounts at Hidden Oaks Nature Center in Annandale. Go on a hike to learn about owl habitats, then dissect your own owl pellet to learn what owls eat. Registration is $27.
Historic House Walk and Talk (10 - 11:30 a.m.)
Take a stroll around the 1784 Historic House at Green Spring Gardens Park in Alexandria to learn about its architecture and landscape. Step inside the house to hear compelling stories of public service, trailblazing women, espionage, civil rights, enslavement and freedom. Registration is $20.
Tales of Our Trails (10 a.m. - noon)
Hike the Potomac Heritage Trail and engage in activities such as archery and exploration to learn about the cultural history of Riverbend Park in Great Falls. Registration is $14.
Grit and Grain - African American Millers (11 a.m. - noon)
African Americans' labor, experience and knowledge were crucial to 19th-century grist milling. Explore the historic Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls as you discuss the contributions of African American millers in Fairfax County. Registration is $10.
Sensory Day (1 - 4 p.m.)
Challenge your senses at the Old Firehouse in McLean. In support of Autism Awareness Month, this free event offers sensory exploration through taste, smell, sound, sight and touch.
