Dear Spartan families,
This is an updated message as the last one incorrectly indicated Sandy Anderson would be at the May meeting (she won't be at the May meeting since she was at our April meeting) and updates the final, all-in-one-day ANGP training date to May 16th.
Currently at the top of the PTSA priority list is nominations for next year's officers. If you are interested in serving as an officer, even remotely, please don't hesitate to reach out to wshsptsa@gmail.com and/or wshsptsanominations@gmail.com to discuss. Without a President, Secretary, and Treasurer, the PTSA doesn't exist.
Our next PTSA meeting is scheduled for May 12th, 730-830pm. You can register here.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, and we're hoping to stock the breakrooms on May 1st! See below for more info and links. Donations are still needed!
This year's Scholarships for Success application window is open! Please see details here. Applications are due May 8th. We also need volunteers to evaluate applications. If you're interested, please reach out to wshsptsa@gmail.com.
The WSHS All Night Grad Part (ANGP) team can still use volunteers to help raise money for this year's ANGP. This is the biggest (and primary) fundraiser for the All Night Grad Party. Please reach out to wshsangp@gmail.com with any questions. First step is to sign up for the Jiffy Lube training here (the last combined one is May 16) - and fill out this form for the ANGP committee. This volunteer role is to take the Jiffy Lube training to be able to sell concessions at an upcoming Jiffy Lube concert of your choice (free entry!). A portion of the concessions sales goes to the ANGP.

Applications for WSHS PTSA Scholarship for Success (SFS) are now open!
Purpose: The West Springfield High School PTSA offers a scholarship to at least one WSHS senior (sometimes more) who has had an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in place for at least two of their four years in high school, and who has overcome obstacles on the road to either academic or other school-related success. The amount and number of scholarships is determined by the annual PTSA budget. Last year multiple awards of $500 were offered. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize the growth that a student has achieved throughout the student's high school career.
Applications Due: Friday, May 8, 2026 by 8 pm.

store - I joined last year / this past spring. Do I need to join again? YES! Our membership year lasts from July 1 - June 30, so if you haven't joined for the current year in the last few weeks, please join for this year!

Why should I join? This is our school. We can keep it a great school by doing our part, or we can hope others do it for us. Be part of the people doing their part, and help support an organization that advocates for our children and schools! See our list of other reasons at https://wshsptsa.net/join/
membership/ - If I join, will I be asked to do things? You can just pay your dues and not do anything else if you want. Totally up to you. We'll share volunteer opportunities and opportunities for donations to teacher appreciation and other events, but joining doesn't commit you to doing anything else. The most important step is joining. I hear too often "I didn't join because I don't have time to do things." Don't let that stop you. If that's the case, we're happy to just take your financial support-- we'll put it to good use!
