Dear Sleepy Hollow School Community,

I am excited to share some wonderful news about our 5th grade students! Recently, a group of our students proudly represented our school at the 2026 Science Olympiad, and their performance was nothing short of outstanding. Competing against other talented students, our team placed in 6 out of the 10 events they entered—an incredible accomplishment that reflects their hard work and dedication.Beyond their success in competition, what stood out most was how our students carried themselves throughout the event. They demo nstrated exceptional teamwork, respect, resilience, and creativity, truly embodying the values we strive to build every day. We are incredibly proud of how they represented our school community.

As we celebrate these achievements, we also want to remind families that the SOL testing window begins next week. This is an important time for our students, and your support at home makes a meaningful difference. Here are a few helpful tips to ensure students are prepared to do their best:

  • Ensure your child arrives at school on time each day

  • Encourage a good night’s sleep before testing days

  • Help your child start each day with a positive mindset and confidence

  • Maintain consistent morning routines to reduce stress

Finally, as we approach the end of the school year, it is important that we continue to reinforce strong habits and expectations. Maintaining daily routines, staying focused on learning, and demonstrating kind, respectful behavior will help all students finish the year successfully. Every day counts, and we want each student to end the year feeling proud of their growth and accomplishments.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we can ensure a strong and positive finish to the school year!

With appreciation,

Principal Vega
