Liberty Middle School is excited to welcome our new principal, Ms. Tracy Bromberg. Ms. Bromberg brings 20 years of diverse FCPS experience to the home of the Lions and has already been a part of our community having transitioned from her role at Centreville High School. She is very eager to meet families and get to know both staff and students as she leads our pride into the final months of the school year.
For more about Ms. Bromberg, check out the Liberty Middle School Website Blogpost linked above.
Testing Update –
- SOL Schedule –
- May 11 – Math 7/8
- May 13 – Science 8
- May 15 – Reading 7/8
- SOL Retakes –
- The state allows elementary and middle school students who fail a spring SOL test to have another attempt before the end of the school year. Parent/guardian permission is required for the school to retest any student in grades 3-8. A decision not to allow retesting will not impact your student’s course grade or academic record.
- If you believe your student would benefit from a second opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and skills on the spring SOL test, submit your decision using the Parent Digital Consent application (https://www.fcps.edu/family-resources/technology/digital-resources/consent ). This application uses your SIS ParentVUE login. If you don’t have a SIS ParentVUE Account, please contact Amber Wickstrom (akwickstrom@fcps.edu) for a paper copy.
- Expedited Retakes will be May 28 – June 1
- Please reach out to the Amber Wickstrom (School Testing Coordinator) with any questions,
Performances:
Friday, May 8th at 7PM
Saturday, May 9th at 2PM and 7PM
Liberty Middle School Auditorium
When the old king of a magical land decides to split his kingdom between his three daughters—Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who is totally original and definitely not from a famous movie)—things go wrong fast. Really, really wrong.
Imagine mixing the crazy plot twists of Game of Thrones with the high drama of a Shakespeare play, then adding a huge dose of comedy. This version of King Lear is a "tragedy," but you’ll be laughing the whole time as the princesses battle for the throne.
In this kingdom, you don't just put on a crown—you fight for it. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you either win... or you're out!
Ticket information coming soon, but mark your calendars and join us for a fun evening of Liberty Theatre!

 Winning Lion Boys Basketball Team
Liberty vs. Stone
A Win, A Loss But ALWAYS A GREAT EVENT!!!
Last Friday evening (4/17) was a fun night for our Liberty Lions and families as our basketball teams took on the Panthers of Stone Middle School at Westfield High School. Great effort by our Girls Team as they put pressure on the Stone team throughout the night. We are excited for the future of this young team with many hopefully returning next year. Our Boys Team stayed strong throughout their game leaping ahead of the Panthers for a big WIN in the end, 43-28! Our dance team had their final performance of the season with many members moving on next year where we hope to see them on the Wildcat fields in the Fall. Thank you to our families for your support of this event. Making memories for our Lions that will stay with them forever!
