The Crystal City East Entrance Project reached a significant milestone last week with the placement of the last beam on the pavilion structure at the corner of 18th Street South and Crystal Drive.
As the project progresses and cherry blossom season comes to a close, the project will resume weekend closures at the Crystal City Metro station to allow crews to do work at the platform level.
Shuttles will replace trains at closed stations, and an express shuttle will serve Pentagon City Metro and the airport. Train service will resume on weekdays.
- May 9–10, 16–17 (include closures at Reagan National Airport and Braddock Road Metro stations)
- May 30–31
- June 6–7, 13–14, 19–21

Starting on Friday, May 8, the parking lane will close on the east side of Crystal Drive and the north side of 12th Street South between 15th Street South and Long Bridge Drive. This is in preparation for activating the lane for the Transitway.
After parking is removed, crews will stripe and prepare the lane to implement the bus-only lane connecting Crystal City to Pentagon City.
Signs will be posted in advance of May 8 to give users notice of the upcoming parking closures.
