Bush Hill Community Clean Up - TOMORROW!
Help our school get ready for spring by lending a hand with the Bush Hill Garden Club! Join us Saturday April 25 as we weed, prune, plant, and freshen up our school grounds. There are tasks for all ages, so anyone can help.
Flexible hour‑long shifts are available, and you’re welcome to sign up for more than one shift.

ESPN at Bush Hill April 30
We are thrilled that on April 30, our school will have a day-long celebration of our success as a Special Olympics Unified Champion School!
ESPN will recognize our program being named to the ESPN Honor Roll for meeting national standards of excellence in the areas of inclusion, advocacy, and respect.

May 4 - 8 we’re rolling out the red carpet for our amazing Bush Hill staff! To celebrate their incredible work, the PTA has planned a star‑studded, Hollywood‑inspired week of appreciation. We need your help to make it a true blockbuster.
Whether you’re able to volunteer your time, donate food or drinks, or make a monetary contribution, every bit of support helps us show our staff just how valued they are.

UNO Pizzeria Restaurant Night - Friday May 8
 Save the date to join us at UNO Pizzeria & Grill (Kingstowne) May 8 from 11:00 AM - 10:30 PM! UNO will donate up to 10- 20% of your check when you dine in or order takeout that day. The more we spend the bigger the donation.
The best way to make sure your order counts is to keep the printed copy of the DoughRai$er flyer (sent home this week).
Every bite makes a difference! All proceeds will be donated to the PTA to support field trips, staff appreciation, 6th grade day and other community events.
Children's Business Fair: May 16, 1:00PM - 3:00PM

Bush Hill is having their second annual Kids Business Fair on Saturday May 16th from 1-3pm in the school gym. The business fair will be a fun-filled event that allows young entrepreneurs to show off their businesses in the live marketplace. The kids have a real-world opportunity to showcase their products and interact with consumers in the community.

Calling all Actors and Actresses!
 We’re excited to share that Code Ninjas Alexandria has been selected as an open casting call for SCHOOLED, a new Netflix series from Mark Rober (CrunchLabs). This creates a unique opportunity for local kids to audition at our locations to have their submissions shared straight to the show’s casting director.
SCHOOLED is a national Netflix competition series from Mark Rober where teams of kids aged 9 to 17 use creativity, engineering, and problem-solving to tackle real-world challenges.
Alexandria Code Ninjas location will be hosting in-person events where kids can come in and record a video on-site with our team to show the producers your kid’s personality! This gives local kids a chance to get in front of the casting directors alongside the official application here: https://www.crunchlabsacademy.com/
Casting Session Details:
Students selected for the show will travel to Los Angeles, CA from June 22 – July 17 for 3–4 weeks of filming, with all travel, accommodation, meals, and transportation fully covered, plus $2,000/week. A parent or guardian is required to attend.
Kids who will be between the ages of 9–17 during filming with an interest in creativity, engineering, or problem-solving are encouraginged to participate.

Help Shape Our PTA Leadership
PTA elections will be held before the end of this school year to form our new PTA Board for the 2026–2027 school year.
We are looking for nominations of parents and caregivers who are willing to step into leadership roles and help support our Bush Hill community. The more hands we have, the lighter the lift for everyone. Many hands really do make less work!
