April 24, 2026

Happy Friday, Panthers:

Today, we celebrated our 3rd Quarter—and final—Honor Roll Celebration of the year, and it was an outstanding success. Thank you to our families for showing up in support and for generously contributing canned goods and nonperishable items to make our “Stuff the Bus” initiative such a meaningful effort.

As we move into the final stretch, please note that the 4th Quarter concludes on the last day of school. Because of this, we will not host a 4th Quarter celebration; however, Honor Roll certificates will be mailed to all qualifying students.

Teacher Appreciation Week will be held May 4–8, 2026. Our teachers are truly exceptional, and we invite you to help us make this week a tremendous success. You can support by purchasing items from our wish list and sending all contributions to LHMS PTA – Teacher Appreciation.

Please review the remaining events for the year below, stay connected, and let’s finish strong together.

STUDENT SERVICES

Social Emotional Learning with Second Step

This week in Flex, students completed the Game Plan survey in Naviance.  This survey is designed to help students begin thinking about and planning for their goals after high school graduation.  Family conversation starter: Ask your student to tell you about their Game Plan survey and goals.

SAVE-THE-DATES: SOL Testing Schedule

The SOLs are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate what they have learned and what areas they may still need support in. Please partner with us by encouraging your student(s) to do their best on each assessment. Our goal is to help students reach their full potential, and an accurate SOL score is an important data point in that mission.

All testing begins at 7:30am.  Please avoid scheduling appointments on testing days and help your child arrive at school on time.

May 6: Reading 7 and 8

May 12: Physical Science (8th grade only)

May 14: Mathematics
