The Clearview Community Connect

Stronger Together

Dear Clearview Families,

It was great to see so many examples of family engagement this week from field trip chaperones to STEAM night participation. The fourth quarter is choc-full of opportunities for parents to send the message that education is invaluable. Please pay close attention to Talking Points and the Clearview May and June Post-It Calendars that will arrive in Tuesday folders so you don’t miss out on school and/or PTA sponsored events scheduled to take place mornings, afternoons, evenings, and even weekends. Even better, there are tons of volunteer opportunities, too!

Have a wonderful weekend!

This week at Clearview

A collage of scenes showing children and adults engaged in educational and recreational activities. In one image, a teacher guides a child using a laptop and a simple circuit setup with play dough and wires. Another shows a child smiling while sliding out of a large blue playground tube. A group photo captures multiple adults standing behind a large group of young children outdoors. In a separate image, several children sit on the floor building with a large pile of LEGO bricks. The final image shows an adult helping two young children explore a display board with drawings and information at an outdoor table.

Autism Acceptance Month

Autism Acceptance Month

April is Autism Acceptance Month. One in 31 children is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in the United States, according to the CDC. All of us play a vital role in creating and ensuring inclusive environments that accommodate and affirm autistic students.

We are happy to report that all students on the autism spectrum at Clearview, based on their individual strengths and needs, are included with their same age peers. Thanks to our amazing Preschool Autism Classroom (PAC) team who created this incredible bulletin board.

National Arab American Heritage Month

FCPS is proud to celebrate National Arab American Heritage Month in April. This special month provides an opportunity to recognize the history and valuable contributions of Arab Americans. Arab Americans have ancestry in one of the world’s 22 Arab nations, which are located from northern Africa through western Asia.

The people of these nations are ethnically, politically, and religiously diverse but share a common cultural and linguistic heritage.

Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child! Every year we take the opportunity to recognize military-connected youth for their service and contribution to our community. Fairfax County Public Schools is proud to have over 14,000 military-connected youth as a part of our student body. We appreciate the varied life experiences they bring to the Clearview ES community, and recognize their strength and resilience.
