The need to improve accessibility for children with disability, the impact of fuel prices on local tourism and the property boom at Naracoorte were among the issues making news this week.
In an emotional and touching interview, ABC South East SA Breakfast presenter Becc Bird and reporter Josh Brine highlighted the struggles facing Ayla Moyle, 3, who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Her mother Linley is calling for improved accessibility to health care and public infrastructure.
"A lot of mothers that just are navigating the world with a pram … when you've got a toddler with a walking frame, it's just tenfold," Linley told ABC South East SA's breakfast program.
On a lighter note, we featured the wonderful story of Penny — the beautiful grey donkey hailing from Dartmoor — who stole the spotlight with her purple poppy crocheted rug during the Anzac Day parade in Mount Gambier.
Thousands of jazz enthusiasts and students will also flood Mount Gambier this weekend for Generations in Jazz, which is one of the world's largest school-based music competitions.
Jazz music will certainly reverberate across the OB Flat site with the sprawling performance marquee taking centre stage.
