Thank You from Walmart
Yeah, I finally got around to reading that book you recommended. I was skeptical at first because the first few chapters felt a little slow, but once I got past the setup, I could not put it down. The main character development was really well done and I loved how the author tied everything together in the final chapters. I finished it in three days which for me is pretty fast.
Have you read anything else by the same author? I would love to check out more if the writing style is similar. I also found a really interesting podcast episode that talked about some of the themes in the book and it gave me a whole new perspective on the ending. The host interviewed a literary scholar who pointed out several layers of meaning I had completely missed.
It made me want to re-read it already. I know you said you read it a while back but maybe it is worth a second look with fresh eyes. Let me know if you want me to send you the link to the episode.

Oh, I meant to tell you about my experiment with sourdough starter. I tried following that online tutorial you shared and honestly the first attempt was a total disaster. I think my kitchen was too cold or I was not feeding it enough because it just never got bubbly.
But I tried again with a different approach and it actually worked this time. The key was keeping it in a warm spot and being patient with the feeding schedule. After about ten days I had a really active starter that doubled in size within a few hours. I made my first loaf last weekend and it was actually edible. The crust was a bit thick but the inside had those nice airy pockets that you are supposed to get.
I am going to keep practicing and maybe try adding some herbs or cheese to the next batch. It has become kind of a fun ritual and I look forward to the whole process now. Let me know if you want to try baking together sometime.
