Hey! Yeah, the hike was amazing. We ended up taking the trail around the lake instead of going straight up the mountain. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and the views were just incredible. I'd recommend bringing extra water if you go. The bugs weren't too bad, but I still used some repellent. We saw a few deer and a ton of birds. I forgot to mention we stopped at the old lookout tower near the northern edge. It's a bit rickety but totally safe and the photo op is unbeatable. Also, parking was easy even though we arrived around 9 AM. Overall, a solid 9/10 adventure. Would definitely repeat.
