I was just thinking about our conversation last weekend and wanted to follow up on a few things. The hike I went on yesterday was absolutely beautiful with wildflowers blooming everywhere along the trail. I ended up taking way more photos than I expected because the lighting was perfect in the late afternoon. My friend Sarah came along and she brought her new camera so we spent a good hour just experimenting with different angles and settings. The summit had this incredible panoramic view of the valley below and you could see for miles in every direction. We packed sandwiches and sat on this flat rock just talking about everything and nothing for almost two hours before heading back down. The whole round trip took about five hours but it felt like time flew by. I'm already thinking about going back next weekend to try a different route that branches off near the midpoint. Also, I finally booked that pottery class I kept mentioning and the first session is next Tuesday evening. I'm a little nervous because I've never worked with clay before but the instructor seems really patient and encouraging. The studio is just a few blocks from my apartment so it's super convenient. I finally got around to reorganizing my home office this past weekend and I wish I had done it months ago. The whole process took longer than I expected because I kept finding old papers and random items that needed to be sorted through. I reorganized the bookshelf by color which honestly makes me smile every time I walk in there now. The desk layout is completely different too with the monitor positioned so I can see out the window while I work. I also added a small plant in the corner and a new desk lamp with adjustable brightness. The difference in how the room feels is remarkable and I find myself actually wanting to spend time in there now. My partner walked in and said it looks like a completely different space. I still need to figure out what to do with the cable situation behind the desk but that's a project for another weekend.
By the way, I tried that new recipe you sent me last week and it turned out really well. I was a bit skeptical about the combination of ingredients but the flavors actually worked together nicely.
