A few friends went last weekend and said the views were incredible once you get past the first mile or so. The elevation gain is moderate but totally doable if we take our time. I was thinking we could plan for a Saturday morning and maybe pack a picnic for the top. There's also a really nice lake about twenty minutes from the trailhead where we could cool off afterward. Also, I heard there might be a small music festival happening in town that same weekend, so we could make a whole day of it if you want. Oh, that reminds me — I finally got around to organizing the garage over the weekend and found that box of old family photos we were looking for. I'd forgotten how many there were. Some of them date back to the early 80s based on the hairstyles and the cars in the background. My mom was thrilled when I showed her a few over the phone.
