Yeah, I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me last month. Turned out better than I expected actually. I added a bit more garlic than it called for because you know me, can never have too much. The sauce was a little runny at first so I let it simmer longer and it thickened up nicely. I served it with that crusty bread from the bakery downtown and it was a solid meal. Next time I think I'll throw in some mushrooms and maybe a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat. Let me know if you've tried any variations on it. Oh and thanks for the tip about salting the pasta water more aggressively, that really did make a difference in the flavor. I've been cooking more at home lately and it's been nice to try new things. I've also been thinking about trying that Thai basil chicken recipe you mentioned. I need to find a good fish sauce though, the one at my regular grocery store seems kinda basic. Do you have a brand you like? Anyway, let me know when you want to do that cooking night, I'm free most weekends now that my schedule has calmed down a bit. I finally started organizing my garage last weekend and honestly it felt like a full day project just to see the floor again. I found two boxes of books I forgot I had, an old fishing rod that must have been in there for years, and about a dozen mismatched screws and nails that I'll probably never use but can't bring myself to throw away. I installed some wall racks and shelves which helped a ton. Still need to go through the big tool chest but that's a project for another weekend. The best part was finding my old vinyl record player in one of the boxes. I cleaned it up and it still works perfectly. I've been listening to some old albums while I work on stuff around the house now. Next up is cleaning out the spare bedroom closet which I'm honestly dreading but it needs to be done. My neighbor stopped by and offered to help which was nice of him, he's got a truck so we might haul some stuff to the donation center together this weekend.
