The way we work is not aligned with the realities of modern life. Traditional expectations of the “ideal worker” mean that men who seek flexibility still face stigma, reinforcing a cycle in which women shoulder more at home and miss out on career opportunities.

W. Brad Johnson and David G. Smith have dedicated the past two decades to showing why and how men have a crucial role to play in promoting gender equality at work, for the benefit of all. A clinical psychologist and sociologist, they are professors and former naval officers with a mission to help men become more effective allies, mentors, and collaborators with women to create a more inclusive workplace.

In their new book, Fair Share: How Men and Women Can Create a More Equitable Workplace Together, they offer a blueprint to break down systemic barriers across the organization, from culture to policies, so that women can take their place in leadership—and men can do more outside of paid work.

On July 1, Brad and David will join us to share the structural policies and procedures that genuinely contribute to real gender fairness. Most thoughtful leaders aspire to better inclusion around gender; they just don’t know what to do. Fair Share shows organizations how to make it happen.
