Anthropic announced on Monday that it has confidentially filed for an initial public offering, joining SpaceX and (reportedly) OpenAI in planning to list its shares. The three potential giga-IPOs could add as much as $4trn to the market value of listed American companies in a matter of months. Can the stockmarket handle this? Probably—but in the longer term, expect some indigestion.
