Your Story Starts Here
We hope everyone’s enjoying the beautiful weather as we head into the final weeks of the school year. Our classrooms have been buzzing with excitement as Career Day presentations continue. From chefs to pilots, veterinarians to engineers, our students are exploring future possibilities and discovering their interests connect to real world opportunities. Thank you to all of the community members who have signed up to share their time, expertise, and experiences with our students.
|
Our students made connections and learned how interests and experiences turn into inspiration during the Sue Fleiss author visit assemblies last Thursday. Our Literary Lions demonstrated respectful listening, asked thoughtful questions, and expressed genuine enthusiasm for the power of storytelling.
This week we celebrate our students’ curiosity, kindness, perseverance and love of learning during Student Appreciation Week. As we navigate the exciting but sometimes exhausting end-of-year hustle, thank you for your continued partnership and support for our students and staff.

For safety reasons, the only children participating in the games are the Kings Park students. When you arrive, come to the blacktop behind the gym and be sure to sign in. End of Year Medicine Pickup
All medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after dismissal on the last day of school will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.
If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).

School Board Adopts Fiscal Year 2027 Approved Budget
On May 21, the Fairfax County School Board unanimously adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Approved Budget, continuing FCPS’ commitment to sustaining excellence by prioritizing competitive compensation and strategic investments that support student success.
The adopted budget reflects the division’s ongoing efforts to navigate a challenging fiscal environment shaped in part by chronic state underfunding and economic uncertainty. Despite these challenges, the budget maintains key investments and restores several reductions made during the prior fiscal year. Read about the FY 2027 Budget.
