Important information on AHS's Graduation Ceremony

Class of 2026 Students and Parents,

With graduation less than a week away, we want to ensure students and families have all the key information they need for a smooth and memorable day.

Graduation will be held on Monday, June 8 at 7:00pm at EagleBank Arena. Tickets are not required. Students should arrive by 5:30pm, enter through the loading dock and proceed to the arena floor. Doors open at 6:00pm for guests, who should arrive at the arena no later than 6:30pm and be in their seats by 6:55pm.

To prepare both students and parents, we have created a Class of 2026 Graduation video. Check it out! 

In addition, Annandale High School’s All Night Grad Celebration is the next night (June 9) from 11:00pm-5:00am at Audrey Moore Rec Center! Tickets are available at the door for $60. If you would like, you can sponsor a Senior and purchase their ticket! Questions? Please contact the ANGC Chair if you have questions or concerns about the All Night Graduation Celebration. Parents can join the fun by volunteering to help! It takes a lot of volunteers to make this a successful night for our seniors. Please look at the sign-up and find a shift that works for you.

Important Dates

June 3 - Senior Awards Ceremony: Our annual Senior Awards Ceremony will be held on June 3 from 10:00-11:15am at Annandale High School. This ceremony provides us an opportunity to recognize seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in each content area, as well as celebrate those seniors who have been selected for community-based awards and scholarships. We have communicated directly with the students and families of our award recipients. If you have questions or concerns, please email Viri Acosta.

 

June 4 - Senior Obligations & Cap and Gown Distribution: Seniors must pay all outstanding obligations, including Senior Dues, prior to receiving their cap and gown. Financial obligations can be paid online via myschoolbucks.com, by using the myschoolbucks mobile app, or in person on June 4. Here are instructions on how to access MySchoolBucks.com. All senior obligations must be paid before picking up their cap and gown. If you have any questions, please email Jeremy DeBoe, Finance Technician.

Students can pick up their cap and gown and senior gift during their assigned times listed below.

  • 10:00-11:00am - Last names A-L
  • 11:30-12:30pm - Last names M-Z

Students should enter through Door 11 at the front of the building and proceed to the upper gym where they will turn in all equipment and supplies and pay any obligations in order to become eligible to graduate.

 

June 5 - Graduation Rehearsal, 10:00-11:00am or 11:30-12:30pm: Graduation rehearsal will be held on the Annandale High School stadium field. Seniors who choose to participate in the Graduation Ceremony must attend graduation rehearsal during their assigned times below. 

  • 10:00-11:00am - Last names A-L
  • 11:30-12:30pm - Last names M-Z

Students should meet on the home side stadium bleachers where they will receive information about the ceremony.

 

June 5 - Graduation Walk, 1:30pm: We are thrilled to extend an invitation to participate in the Graduation Walk event on Friday, June 5 at 1:30pm (2:30 for Annandale Terrace ES), where students will have the wonderful opportunity to revisit their previous elementary school and stroll through the halls adorned in cap and gown, celebrating their achievements and the journey that has led them to this momentous occasion. Transportation will not be provided. All students who would like to participate must safely get to their school on their own.

 

June 8 - Graduation, 7:00pm: Graduation will be held on Monday, June 8, at 7:00pm at Eagle Bank Arena. Tickets are not required.

 

June 9 - All Night Grad Celebration: Annandale High School’s All Night Grad Celebration is June 9 from 11:00pm-5:00am at Audrey Moore Rec Center! Tickets are on sale now for $55. Students can order tickets here. After June 1, tickets will only be available at the door for $65. If you would like, you can sponsor a Senior and purchase their ticket! Please contact the ANGC Chair if you have questions or concerns about the All Night Graduation Celebration. Graduation Ceremony

Date and Location: Graduation will be held on Monday, June 8 at 7:00pm at EagleBank Arena. Tickets are not required. 

Student Arrival: Students should arrive by 5:30pm, enter through the loading dock and proceed to the arena floor. 

No Carried Items: Students must leave all personal belongings in their car or with their families. Bags or purses are not permitted.

Dress Code: It is Annandale High School’s tradition to treat our graduation as a formal ceremony. By doing so we ensure that every student receives the respect and acclaim he or she has earned. Thus, formal attire is required for graduation. 

Formal attire includes dresses, a suit or dress slacks with a collared shirt, and appropriate shoes. Students may not decorate their cap. The tassel is the only thing to be worn on the cap, and nothing is to be attached to the gown (e.g. flowers, messages, etc.) Ethnic and cultural stoles are permitted.

Expected Behavior: Graduation is an opportunity to showcase many of the amazing aspects of our school. Inappropriate behavior anytime during the ceremony, will result in the immediate removal of the student from the event. Any student removed from graduation will be issued their diploma at a later date, pending an appointment with their administrator. No objects should be carried onto the stage.

Guest Arrival: Doors open at 6:00pm. Guests should arrive at the arena no later than 6:45pm and be in their seats by 6:55pm.

All guests will undergo weapons detection upon entry. EagleBank Arena encourages guests to not bring a bag to expedite the screening process. If you require a bag, EagleBank Arena has a clear bag policy. Bags must adhere to the following: be clear with no obscured inside pockets, not exceed 12x12x6in. Non-clear clutch style bags or purses must not exceed 5x7in.


Parking: Students and families may park in Lots A, K, or L on the George Mason Campus. Handicapped Parking is located in Lot A.

All Night Grad Celebration 

The All Night Graduation Celebration (ANGC) provides a SAFE, FUN, chaperoned, alcohol-free, and drug-free event for the Class of 2026 to celebrate together one last time.

Location: Audrey Moore RECenter, 8100 Braddock Road, Annandale, VA 22003

Time: Registration and check-in opens at 11:00pm Tuesday, June 9, with activities from 11:00pm through 5:00am Wednesday, June 10. Doors close at 12:00am (Midnight) and no student is allowed to leave prior to 5:00am unless we alert parents.  

Only 2026 Annandale High School Graduates may attend—no exceptions.

Official Graduation Ceremony Photographs from Legacy Studios: Photos will be available shortly after the ceremony on the Legacy Studios Events Website at events.legacystudios.com using the code 4542H26. Diploma Pickup: Students who did not attend the graduation ceremony can pick up their diploma and official transcript Monday - Friday from 8:00am-3:30pm in Student Services. All obligations must be paid prior to picking up a diploma.
