Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe says the automaker is using AI and neural networks to overcome previous limitations in autonomous technology with its sights on SAE Level 4 self-driving by 2030. Rivian expects to achieve SAE Level 2 to 3 autonomy within 18 months, but cybersecurity, regulatory and liability challenges remain obstacles to full adoption.
