5K Fun Run ~ Recap!
Our PTO 5K Fun Run was a huge success and a perfect example of what happens when parents, teachers, and students come together in the spirit of community and fun! The day was filled with laughter, energy, and togetherness as families laced up their sneakers and hit the course.
From the enthusiastic 80+ runners, to the adorable Dance Team, and to the amazing volunteers who kept everything running smoothly, it was clear that teamwork made the day unforgettable. A HUGE shout out to our running coaches, Devan Davis, Kaitlin Knox, and Elvin Escobar!

Falls to Forest: A Sister School Connection
Great Falls Elementary families, teachers, and staff were once again incredibly generous with their donations, providing several hundred new and gently used books. The twenty-three cartons of books in all! See the message below from Julie Hobbs, their PTA Community Outreach Representative and an IA at the school:
"This year, the book drive was supported by Miss Levetown, Miss Day, and the SCA students. They hung flyers to promote awareness for the drive and helped sort and pack the book donations. The school news team also helped promote the book drive during the school morning announcements!"
We will be hosting a "book fair" in the next couple weeks so our students can "shop" for books to take home for the summer. We are grateful for the partnership with Great Falls Elementary!

Media Balance and Well Being Toolkit
Digital wellbeing means maintaining a healthy and balanced relationship with technology. Please help support your child's healthy balance by visiting a family-facing version of the toolkit available on the FCPS website. As students transition into summer, this is a helpful tool for our families.

Partnering Together to Support Positive Student Behavior
At Glen Forest, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for all students. We ask for your partnership in speaking with your child about the importance of keeping their hands and feet to themselves throughout the school day, including in classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, and on the playground.
As outlined in the Fairfax County Public Schools Student Rights and Responsibilities, students are expected to demonstrate respectful and safe behavior toward others. Physical behaviors such as hitting, pushing, kicking, play fighting, or unwanted touching can disrupt learning and impact the safety and well-being of others.
We encourage families to reinforce the importance of:
- Respecting personal space
- Using words to solve conflicts
- Keeping hands, feet, and objects to themselves
- Making safe and responsible choices
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping our students learn and grow in a positive school environment. Please visit this link to view the Student Rights & Responsibilities in its entirety.
