Welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Big To-Do: Short Cuts, our midweek round-up of what’s going on around Boston, as selected by Boston Globe critics and writers.

Thursday

  • By the Power of Greyskull, the new “Masters of the Universe” movie debuts in theaters this weekend.

  • Presented by the Asian American Ballet Project and featuring choreography from Alexa Capareda, “Gabi sa Gubat” takes over the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

  • Directed by M. Bevin O’Gara, the play “Bad Books” comes to the Gloucester Stage beginning Thursday and running through June 27.

Friday

  • The latest “Cape Fear” adaptation arrives on Apple TV, starring Javier Bardem, Patrick Wilson, and Amy Adams.

  • Rapper Kid Cudi performs at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield.

  • Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer rocks the stage at TD Garden.

Saturday

  • Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz brings his “Still Yours” tour to the Boch Center Wang Theatre.

  • Lily Fitts, Toledo, and more perform at Boston Chilling, a new and free fest at the Lawn on D.

  • See Puppy Problems and more Massachusetts acts at SOMEDAY Fest, a free hyper-local event at Warehouse XI Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday

  • Pop star P!nk handles hosting duties for this year’s Tony Awards, airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

  • The new documentary “Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial Vs. That’s the Weight of the World)” premieres on HBO and HBO Max.

  • Emcee and producer Baby Keem performs at MGM Music Hall at Fenway on Sunday and Monday.




Ongoing

  • Catch the production “Eureka Day” at the Huntington Theatre through June 28.

Last chance

  • Boston Ballet’s “The Sleeping Beauty” concludes its run at Citizens Opera House on Sunday.
