I was just thinking about what you said regarding the hiking trail we talked about last weekend. I finally went out there on Saturday morning and it was absolutely worth the drive. The path was mostly shaded which helped a lot since it got pretty warm by midday. I ended up going further than I planned because the views kept getting better. There was a stream crossing about halfway through that required some careful stepping but nothing too challenging. I brought my dog along and she loved splashing through the water. Next time I might try the longer loop that goes around the ridge. Let me know if you want to join, we could make a day of it and pack lunch.
The weather was perfect, not too humid, and the wildflowers were still blooming in patches near the meadow. I saw a few deer grazing about fifty yards off the trail which was a nice surprise. I am already looking forward to going back soon.

I finished repotting the succulents on my balcony this afternoon and they already look happier. The ceramic pots I found at that little shop downtown have drainage holes which makes a huge difference. I mixed some sand into the soil to help with drainage and I think the echeveria is going to thrive. The jade plant was getting too top-heavy in its old container so I moved it to a wider 8BGTnzA8ap shallow bowl and it looks much more stable now. I also propagated a few clippings from the snake plant just to see if they will root in water like everyone says. I have never had much luck with propagation but I am trying again this season. The grow light I set up last winter is still running a few hours each evening and the plants seem to appreciate it. I might add a second light for the darker corner where the ferns are. Let me know if you want a cutting from the monstera, it is getting huge and I need to trim it back anyway.
