Canton police sergeant resigns during pending misconduct investigation

A police sergeant in Canton, Massachusetts, has resigned amid an ongoing internal affairs investigation into his alleged misconduct.

The Town of Canton confirmed Wednesday that Sean Goode submitted his resignation from the Canton Police Department effective June 2. His resignation does not alter the completion of the investigation, the town added. Those results will still be submitted to the town and the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST).

“While we understand the public’s interest in such matters, Massachusetts personnel and privacy laws limit what may be publicly shared regarding employment matters,” the town said in its statement, noting they will have no further comment at this time.

‘No time left': Cape Cod house at risk of toppling off cliff as coastline recedes

There is growing concern in Eastham, Massachusetts, over a home that appears to be on the verge of falling into the Atlantic Ocean. Now, town officials are moving in to demolish the home out of fear that it could fall on those visiting the beach below.

David Sobel has been watching the area closely for years. Even he was stunned by how quickly the shoreline disappeared.

“I think it’s happening way faster than even I thought it was going to happen,” Sobel said. “I have been checking it out for the last 20 years. Last year, there was at least 30 feet of lawn before the cliff edge.”

Celtics star Jaylen Brown lists Boston penthouse for sale

Celtics star Jaylen Brown is listing his former penthouse condominium in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood for just under $5 million.

Brown, who just finished his 10th season with the Celtics, first bought the Fort Point condo in 2021 for what deeds show was $6 million for two adjacent units. The condo is on the top floor of the five-story brick building at 49 Melcher St.

Heat bearing down with 90 degrees possible today, tomorrow and Saturday

Plenty of heat bearing down over the next couple of days.

We’ll be close to 90 in a couple of spots today, then hit it away from the coast tomorrow, and finally reach peak with many 90s (away from the Capes/Islands) on Saturday.

Humidity will slowly climb but still be tolerable through Friday.

Boston seafood company receives FDA warning letter

A Boston seafood company has been warned by federal health officials about what they called “insanitary conditions” in its Seaport facility.

Stavis Seafoods was sent a warning letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on April 15 citing “serious violations” of a seafood food safety management system known as the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point regulation.

Teen is identified decades after her grisly murder at Mass. YMCA

A teenager whose name was unknown for over two decades following her murder at a Lynn, Massachusetts, YMCA has been identified.

The man who killed Tiffany Bradley and dumped part of her body at the parking lot of the Soldiers’ Home at Chelsea in November 2000 was convicted, but he didn’t know the 16-year-old’s name, officials said at a news conference in Boston where she was identified, and which family members attended.

“It is totally amazing that after 26 years, people care enough to giver her a name and return her to her family,” said Bradley’s niece, Shakirah Wiggins.
