Phillip Rooker was a lifelong Elgin resident. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1956, then served in the US Navy for two years aboard the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea. After leaving the Navy, he attended Elgin Community College, and graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1963. As a young man, he was also an Eagle Scout, lifeguard at the Elgin YMCA, and worked at the YMCA's Camp Edwards in southern Wisconsin. He met his wife, Nancy (Lange) in first grade at Grant Elementary School, and they were married in 1961. Phillip's career in business management included Rohm & Haas chemical company (1966-1972), Elgin Federal Savings & Loan (1972-1974), and Nissan Motor Corporation of North America (1974-1994). He also founded a handyman business called Home Helps after retiring from Nissan.
Phillip's greatest joy was helping people. He was always the person who could be relied upon to fix what was broken and lend a hand when needed. He and Nancy also loved RV travel and spending time at their summer cottage in Eagle River, WI. Phillip is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Sarah (Mackh), sons, Brent and Mark Rooker; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby (Wiese) and Harry L. Rooker II; his brother, Harry L. Rooker III, and sister, Merle Jo (Jaskula).

Patricia Diane Kennelly, Patty, or PK to those who knew and loved her, passed away surrounded in love on April 27, 2026. She was 52 years old. Patty's greatest legacy is her three strong, smart, talented, funny, loving boys, Finnegan Thomas (16), Lachlan Sexton (13), and Brogan Francis (11). Patty married her love, Lisa A. Swanson, two years ago, September 14, 2024. Lisa, the boys, and Patty's beloved family - her sisters, Maura Kennelly and Mary Kennelly (Chris Dahlhauser), and her parents, Tom and Mary Kennelly, were all with Patty as she passed from this world.
We take comfort knowing that Patty was welcomed with open and loving arms by her grandparents, Gene and Mae O'Brien (Woodstock, Illinois) and John and Jane Kennelly (Park Ridge, Illinois), her Aunt Diane and Uncle Tom O'Brien, her Aunt Ann Stover, her Uncle Gene O'Brien, her Uncle Martin Kennelly, and her Uncle Kevin Kennelly. Patty leaves behind 24 first cousins and many more family members who keenly feel her loss.
Patty grew up in Wonder Lake, Illinois, and attended Woodstock public schools, where she excelled in band and academics and was a talented athlete in both track and field and basketball. Growing up, Patty was surrounded by the love and support of her large and loving family. She was the adored oldest sister of three girls. She and her sisters, Maura and Mary, share a bond that was strengthened over years of learning and growing together and supporting each other through life's joys and challenges. Her parents, Tom and Mary, laid a foundation of love and support that enabled Patty to excel in all of her endeavors and reach for her highest goals
