Hey, I finally got around to moving those potted plants to the north side of the porch. They were getting way too much afternoon sun and the leaves started curling. I mixed in some compost and gave them a good soak. The ferns especially seem happier now. I still need to pick up a few more stakes for the tomatoes before they topple over. My neighbor said she used bamboo poles last year and it worked great. Also thinking about putting a small drip line on a timer while we are away in August. The system at the garden center looked simple to set up. I’ll send you photos once the blooms come in. Let me know if you want some cuttings from the lavender when it’s ready. GFSBixKpcVIlGN5 I found a good spot for the birdbath too, right near the dwarf apple tree.

I just finished reading that historical mystery novel you recommended, and it was excellent. The pacing kept me guessing right up to the last chapter. The character development was really strong, especially the detective’s backstory woven through the case. I might try another book by the same author after I finish the current non-fiction about marine biology. The illustrations in that one are stunning. My niece asked if I could take her to the aquarium next weekend, so we are planning a trip. She loves the touch tanks. I also need to return the camping gear I borrowed from the garage. The tent dried out nicely but the sleeping bag needs a wash. I’ll drop everything off by Thursday. Let me know if you want me to pick up anything from the library while I’m there.
